Jeremiah holds degrees in Literature and Theology in addition to his art training, and particularly enjoys the intersection of art, literature, and the mystical. “I began chasing the White Whale in 2007 when I left for Guatemala and started apprenticing under one of the world’s finest tattooers. The traditional apprenticeship taught me everything about the ancient art of tattooing; including building a tattoo machine from scratch and mastering linework. I’ve studied and created art as long as I can remember, but pursued tattooing and my own artistic expression while living in Guatemala where I worked in gang prisons and the largest urban slum in Central America, La Limonada. The apprenticeship in Guatemala started when I worked to create cover-up tattoos for former gang members who were leaving the gang lifestyle. A portion of all tattoo and apparel proceeds allows us to continue restorative work in Guatemala and beyond with those who are chasing their own White Whale. Thank you for joining us on this mission.”
